Quiet hours and message limits

Set the hours when nothing is sent and the most messages a member can get in a week.

Two settings protect your members from hearing from you too much. Both apply to messages your team writes and to messages Cortex sends.

  • Quiet hours: a window, such as overnight, when no message goes out. Nobody gets a push from you at 2 a.m.
  • Weekly limit: the most messages one member can get in a week, such as three.

Changing them

  1. Open Notifications.
  2. Find the quiet hours and weekly limit settings.
  3. Set the hours and the number you want, then save.

Both are checked for each member right before a send. If a message would land in quiet hours or push a member over the limit, that member doesn't get it at that time.

Members who stop opening

Cortex also sends less to members who have started ignoring messages. Sam has ignored the last three pushes and unsubscribed from email, so Cortex holds off and sends nothing for now. If Sam is still away on day 14, Cortex tries a win-back message.

Tip

Start with a low limit. It's easier to raise it once you see the results than to win back a member who turned notifications off.
