Sending a message to your members
Write one message, choose who gets it, check the previews and schedule it.
Messages are written in Signal, which you reach from Notifications. You write the message once and Signal makes the push, email, text and in-app versions from it.
Sending a one-off message
- Open Notifications and start a new message.
- Choose who gets it: all members, or a group such as members of one program or people who haven't visited in a week.
- Write the message. The previews for push, in-app, text and email update as you type.
- Read each preview. A line that works as an email subject can be too long for a lock screen.
- Pick a send time, or send it now.
Cortex then picks the channel for each member, based on which ones that member has opened before. Your quiet hours and weekly limit are checked before anything goes out.
Messages with more than one step
A welcome series or a win-back sequence has several steps. Set the steps, how long to wait between them and the goal, such as a booked class or a renewal. Preview the whole sequence before you turn it on.
Tip
Write the way you'd talk to the member at the front desk. "Your 21-day streak is one workout away" gets opened more often than a general reminder to train.
Good to know
If a member has turned off notifications or unsubscribed from email, they won't get that channel. Cortex uses one they still receive, or skips them.
