Prescriptions and pharmacies
Where an approved prescription goes, how you can tell it's been filled, and how pharmacies are connected.
Once a provider approves a patient, the prescription goes to that patient's pharmacy. That can be a mail-order pharmacy or a local one near them.
How it works
- During intake, the patient picks the pharmacy they want to use.
- The provider approves the prescription from the queue.
- The prescription is sent to the pharmacy through the prescription network.
- The app shows you when the pharmacy has filled it.
Your team doesn't need to phone or fax the pharmacy. If a prescription hasn't been filled when you expect, check the patient's record first to see which pharmacy it went to.
Adding or changing a pharmacy partner
Pharmacy partners and prescription networks are connected by our team. If you start working with a new pharmacy, or want to stop using one, contact your account team and tell them which patients it affects.
Tip
Patients on a regular medication get refill reminders from the app, so the next prescription is ordered before they run out.
Good to know
Prescription details are health data. Your staff see them only if their role allows it, and each view is logged with their name.
